“I don’t have money”
“I can’t afford”
Many people say this so often but do you know that it is one of the most dangerous words?
Before I started my own business, I invested ten thousand dollars on mentoring and coaching NOT because I had money to invest, but I DIDN’T have money.
I still remember my heart was beating so fast and my mind was telling me “are you crazy!?” when I handed over my credit card. I had not idea how I was going to pay it! I put it on monthly payment plan and I struggled to pay it off for some time. But it was the best decision I made because it really pushed me to MAKE money to be able to pay it. My life wouldn’t have changed if I didn’t make that decision.
When you say, “I don’t have money” or “I can’t afford”, do you know what’s happening in your subconscious mind? You’re admitting that something you want is beyond your reach and you’re accepting that you can’t have it. You’re telling yourself that you don’t have an ability to get it. It gives you a reason to stay in the same place and closes yourself to an opportunity to solve the problem.
So what should we say instead?
“How can I afford it?”
This question empowers you to look for answers. It opens up for possibilities. It enables you to look for solution and overcome the problem. It gets you closer to your dream instead keeping you away from your dreams. It empowers you to grow as a person.
Just by rephrasing “I don’t have money” to “How can I afford it?”, how much difference do you think will make in 1, year, 5 years or 10 years? How would your financial future be different? How different would you be as a person? Think about it.
Do you still want to say “I don’t have money”? 😉
